Milena’s Top 5 Tips for Staying Motivated: #5 Cool Off
Cool Off
Being continually sore or nursing a slight injury can create a lot of stress and can sometimes cause you to want to take a sabbatical.
Avoid the misery that comes when you aren’t recovered by taking these precautions. Keep the muscle inflammation down by taking an ice bath after your hard workouts or long runs. Fill the bath tub 1/2 full with cold water, throw in a few handfuls of ice and in you go. Soak for 10-15 minutes. Your muscles will thank you.
Also, add Vitalyte’s Complete Recovery to your post-workout regime. The powerful S.O.D is a super potent anti-oxidant that aids in reducing muscle inflammation. Plus the glucosamine in there is great for your joints (and for all of those of you with shellfish allergies, good news. It’s a non-shellfish source of glucosamine). So when you are feeling a little burdened by the bumps and bruises of training, cool off and bring down that inflammation so you can be motivated to get out there the next day.
Straight from the Dog’s Mouth. Annabelle the Basset Hound Hired by Vitalyte
It may seem strange that as a basset hound, I would have anything to say on the topic of healthy living. Maybe I don’t, but my dad, the CEO of Vitalyte Sports Nutrition, keeps telling me that it’s time I get a job. Only being 7 I think I’m still a little young but since he thought it was a good idea, I figured I could be a health consultant for the family business. Apparently being the model for the Vitalyte Facebook ads wasn’t enough…now I get to be a Brand Ambassador (you can be too. apply here.)

What follows is my story and some advice I have learned over the years on how to live a healthy life and how to keep your tail wagging most of the time. My name is Annabelle and this is the Basset Way!

Ears and Paws…
As you can see from one of my childhood pictures, I was all ears and paws. From what I have been told, my early years were spent constantly getting into trouble. I don’t consider myself a trouble maker, but more an adventurer. Being a puppy has two unique advantages. You are constantly full of boundless energy and everything is new. As a Basset, I have an overdeveloped sense of smell which makes the world even more interesting. Something as simple as a trash can holds endless possibilities. There were countless times as a puppy that I was yelled at for simply just following my nose.
Well, I can say this, not in defense of my actions, but in defense of the childish innocence that resides in us all. My advice is: never lose that. Even now, I still find time to sniff around the trash can or go digging in the garden. For some reason, people think they have to act “like adults” when they get to a certain age, thereby leaving behind the joy they once found in the simple things. We all have this spark of youth that resides in us and regardless of how stuffy we act, it can never truly be extinguished. Make time to fan that spark into a raging fire. In doing so, you will come to enjoy the simple things in life that once made your tail wag.
Hope you have a happy and healthy day. Until next time,
Annabelle.
