Vitalyte Electrolyte Replacement at the North American Orienteering Championships

north american orienteering championships electrolyte replacementWhere would we be without our iMaps, Google Maps, Waze and other helpful navigation apps for our smartphones? Whether you need to find your way from the office to a local auto repair shop, or from home to that little beach cottage five hours north, modern technology makes our oil stops and road trips more efficient and less frustrating. But, I have to admit, I remember the days when you needed to pay attention to how you got somewhere so you could get back. Like Hansel and Gretel but without the breadcrumbs! Not having had the convenience or brilliance of a true smartphone until my mid-thirties, I relied on learning from my mistakes to help my navigation scores improve. After all, proper nav ability was a form of modern day survival skills. My game became so sharp, and word of my acquired talent spread so fast, that my friends would call me in a teary-eyed panic from their flip phones while I would ask the pertinent questions like, "Did you pass the three story building with the purple balcony across from the donut shop yet? If you did you, you went too far." I literally steered my peers away from crying fits and panic attacks and I lost count of how many job interviews I rescued from the perils of "I'm going to be five minutes late, this looks so bad?" But alas my need diminished and my demand dwindled with advancement in technology and the app phenomenon. I could still find my way out of an un-named alley like nobody's business, but what did it mean anymore? I thought my skill was, well like the pay phone, a great thing but no longer relevant! But then I was told that, at Vitalyte, we were going to be sponsoring the largest orienteering meet in North America Orienteering?! I was quite intrigued and impressed when I learned about the combination of mental sharpness and physical fitness that was involved in the sport. Not only do participants have to navigate through challenging terrain using only a compass and map, but they have do so with the swiftness of a world-class sprinter, the alacrity of a top rated fitness competitor and the endurance of champion distance runner. A sport that calls on unassisted mental acuity, focus and athletic skill. It was like a math quiz with no calculators allowed! I was sold! "No wonder these athletes are reaching for Vitalyte," I thought. Our electrolyte replacement drink is perfect for orienteering athletes who require glucose to keep their brain power sharp and essential electrolytes to keep their bodies functioning on all twelve cylinders.

This September the North American Orienteering Championships will be held on the campus of the prestigious Dartmouth College. Hundreds of the top competitors in the sport will take part in this event that showcases some of the world's elite. Vitalyte will be on hand to help keep all those taking part hydrated and safe. And I will be watching feverishly to learn a few tips from the best, sans smartphone style!
